Bridal Makeup
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about bridal makeup, booking, travel, destination weddings, and spray tanning with Salterra Collective.
-
Salterra specializes in soft, elevated bridal makeup that still looks like you. Think polished skin, softly defined eyes, beautiful dimension, and a finish that photographs well without feeling heavy,
-
My signature style leans natural to soft glam rather than very heavy or dramatic makeup. If you love polished, bronzed, romantic, skin-focused makeup, we will likely be a great fit.
-
A bridal trial is highly recommended. It gives us time to perfect your look, make adjustments, discuss your preferences, and make wedding morning feel much more relaxed.
-
Most brides schedule their trial a few months before the wedding. Engagement photos, bridal portraits, or anything special event can also be a great opportunity to schedule it.
-
Arrive with clean skin and bring any inspiration photos you love. I also recommend wearing a color similar to your wedding dress so you can better visualize the finished look. When looking for inspiration I recommend finding makeup looks on girls that have same hair color, skin color, eye color ect.
-
Bridal makeup typically requires more time than a standard appointment because we are creating a long-lasting, camera- ready look with extra attention to detail. Your final wedding timeline will account for enough time, so the morning does not feel rushed.
-
Absolutely. Makeup is customized to your skin, features, comfort level, and desired finish.
-
Usually somewhere toward the middle or later in the timeline works best. I do not recommend leaving the bride to very last minute because we want plenty of time for photos, getting dressed, and any final touches.
Bridal Parties

Yes. Bridal party makeup is available for bridesmaids, mothers, and other members of your wedding party.
-
Yes. Each person’s makeup can be customized while still keeping the overall bridal party cohesive.

Yes. Depending on the number of services and the wedding timeline, an additional artist may be needed.

That depends on your ceremony time, photography schedule, number of services, and travel. Larger parties often require an earlier start so no one feels rushed.
Booking + Payments
-
Bridal clients are encouraged to book as early as possible, especially for popular weekends and peak wedding seasons. For events, photoshoots, content sessions, and other makeup appointments, booking 2–6 weeks in advance is recommended whenever possible. Last-minute availability may be available depending on the date and location.

Start by submitting an inquiry through the Salterra website. Once availability and details are confirmed, you will receive the appropriate booking information and next steps.

An inquiry does not automatically reserve a date. Your date is considered officially booked once the required booking steps outlined in your proposal and contract are completed.

Last-minute appointments may be available depending on the schedule and location, but booking in advance is always recommended—especially for prom, homecoming, holidays, and popular event weekends.
Spray Tanning
-
For most events, I recommend scheduling your tan about 1-2 days in advance.
-
Usually, 2 days before the wedding is ideal, allowing the color time to fully develop and settle.
-
Exfoliate and complete shaving or waxing before your appointment. Arrive with clean, dry skin without lotion, perfume, or deodorant whenever possible.
-
Loose, dark clothing is best. Avoid tight waistbands, leggings, bras, or anything that may rub against the developing tan.
-
Your rinse time depends on the solution used. You will receive specific aftercare instructions at your appointment.
-
Aoid sweating, water and workouts while your tan is developing.
-
With proper preparation and aftercare, most spray tans last several days and gradually fade.
-
The goal is always a natural, flattering glow. Your solution and depth are selected based on your skin tone and desired result.
-
Yes. Bridal and wedding-event spray tanning is available. As well as spray tan parties for wedding party.
Wedding Morning
-
A clean face, your inspiration photos, and a comfortable getting ready space with good lighting and access to an outlet are ideal.
-
This can vary depending on the hairstyle and wedding timeline. Your beauty team can coordinate the order that works best.
-
Absolutely. Getting-ready photos are one of my favorite parts of wedding morning.
-
Your makeup is designed for longevity, but weddings include tears, hugs, heat, eating, drinking, and hours of celebrating. I use professional techniques and products to help your look hold beautifully throughout the day.
-
Touch-up options may vary by service. Any details specific to your booking will be discussed before the wedding.
